Honey Garlic Glazed Broccoli

Honey Garlic Glazed Broccoli

This sweet broccoli recipe transforms an everyday vegetable into an irresistible side dish with a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and garlicky flavors. The tender-crisp broccoli florets are coated in a glossy honey garlic glaze that caramelizes slightly, creating a dish that even vegetable skeptics will love.

Prep: 5 minutes
Cook: 10 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 large head broccoli (cut into florets)
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 clove garlic (minced)
  • 3 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add broccoli florets and blanch for 2 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Add the blanched broccoli to the skillet and toss to coat with the garlic oil. Cook for 2 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  5. Pour the honey mixture over the broccoli and toss to coat evenly. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and glazes the broccoli.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice at the end. This dish is best served immediately while the glaze is still warm and sticky.
