Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp (large, peeled and deveined)
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 clove garlic (minced)
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions (thinly sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add shrimp to the hot skillet in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through. Remove shrimp to a plate.
  5. Reduce heat to medium and add garlic to the same skillet. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Pour in the honey sauce mixture and bring to a simmer for 1-2 minutes until it starts to thicken.
  7. Add butter and stir until melted and incorporated into the sauce.
  8. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce for about 1 minute.
  9. Sprinkle with sliced green onions and serve immediately.
