Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp (large, peeled and deveined)
- salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 clove garlic (minced)
- 0.25 cup honey
- 3 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions (thinly sliced)
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add shrimp to the hot skillet in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through. Remove shrimp to a plate.
- Reduce heat to medium and add garlic to the same skillet. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the honey sauce mixture and bring to a simmer for 1-2 minutes until it starts to thicken.
- Add butter and stir until melted and incorporated into the sauce.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce for about 1 minute.
- Sprinkle with sliced green onions and serve immediately.
