Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 10 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 lb salmon fillet (skin removed and cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 0.33 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 green onion (thinly sliced for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish (optional))

Instructions

  1. Pat salmon cubes dry with paper towels. In a shallow bowl, mix cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Toss salmon cubes in the mixture until lightly coated.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add salmon cubes in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 2 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove to a plate.
  3. In the same pan, reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir and bring to a simmer. Let the sauce bubble for about 1-2 minutes until it starts to thicken.
  5. Return the salmon cubes to the pan and gently toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for another 30 seconds.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Serve over steamed rice or with a side of vegetables for a complete meal. For extra flavor, add 1 teaspoon of grated ginger with the garlic.
