Ingredients
- 4 white fish fillets (cod, halibut, or sea bass, about 6 oz each)
- 3 tablespoon white miso paste
- 2 tablespoon mirin
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated)
- 2 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 green onions (thinly sliced)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic until smooth.
- Pat fish fillets dry with paper towels and place on a foil-lined baking sheet.
- Brush each fillet generously with the miso mixture on both sides.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place fish in the hot skillet, skin side up, and sear for 2 minutes until golden.
- Flip fish and transfer the skillet to the oven. Bake for 5-7 minutes until fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
Serve with steamed rice and sautéed greens for a complete meal. For a spicier version, add a teaspoon of sriracha to the miso glaze.
